Inclusive Skating is seeking to supplement the Board of Trustees with one or two individuals with experience of developing, training, supervising and working with volunteers to guide the Board into the next phase of growth.  Ideally, interested candidates will have a background in working with volunteers supporting those with impairments or physical disabilities, and an understanding of the skating community.

Inclusive Skating is a charity registered in Scotland with an operational reach which includes England, Wales and Ireland and participants from other countries around the world.  The principal aim is to advance public participation in sport whilst promoting and facilitating equality and diversity.  IS aims to make skating open to all within a supportive environment for those facing additional challenges.  Despite recent restrictions on available skating facilities IS has become a leader in adaptation of practice and forward thinking in alternative ways of development and support.

The current Board of four Trustees is chaired by founder Margarita Sweeney-Baird.  Board members are appointed for an initial period of four years.

The Person:  You will be an enthusiastic and hands on team player with a strong commitment to equality in sport.  Your background will include people management and motivation and volunteer development and training programmes.  You will have a grounded empathy with or direct experience of individuals of all ages facing a broad spectrum of impairments.  Your skill set will include application of digital training materials and an innovative approach to adaptation and communication.

The Board sets strategic and policy direction whilst ensuring that projects are delivered as standard. Requirements:  You will be digitally literate and initially flexible in availability.  You will be required to undertake the bespoke IS Covid and Safety training already in place and disclosure checks are standard.
